In A Savage Land
Universal 1999
Evelyn: What will you take with you, into the dark?
For me, I'll take the smell of a pearl shell, freshly opened,
one late day at the beach.

Mick: They say that if, when you open it, there's a ring of black, then your love won't
last. But if it's gold, your love'll last forever.
Evelyn: It's gold!
Mick: Want a beer?
Evelyn: Sure - why not!

Mick: See these ones - got no shine, just seed pearls. Not worth much, a
couple of bucks a grain. This one ---
Evelyn: What exquisite paper!
Mick: Uh-huh. You can tell a trader by his paper.
Evelyn: And what does this say about you?
Mick: Pay too much for my paper - It's what we call an Oriental. See that -
top of the line.
Evelyn: This is your finest?
Mick: Oh yeah - go on pick it up.
Evelyn: Oh it's beautiful!
Mick: Yeah - I call that one 'Teardrop from the Moon'. It's almost perfect - no
blemishes.
Evelyn: Hum, I like this Teardrop from the Moon. I look forward to it.

Mick: How are you any different from the...guy, comes down here, buys himself a boat
load a ebony at two and six and flogs 'em down to the mainland for two quid?
Phillip: I really don't think this warrants debate!
Evelyn: No, go on Phillip - explain!
Mick: Are you payin' 'em? --- For the work?
Phillip: Can I say, with all due respect, that a hundred years from now, I will be
remembered for what I have done here, and you will not!
Excuse me!!
Mick: I don't want to be remembered!
